I was lucky enough to grow up in a small village, with an un-tamed wilderness of trees and shrubs for a back garden.

Perfect for secret dens and letting your imagination run wild. This was not a ‘flowery’ garden, more of a woodland wonderland – nature had taken over, fallen down trees were left for insects to make homes in, ivy was allowed to choose its own path and moss and weeds could go where they chose to.

My love affair with nature and knowledge was inspired and encouraged by my dad, who taught me to respect and learn as much as I could about trees and wild flowers. It is this that I want to share – to bring back the magic into your garden.

I was introduced to urban gardening from an early age; growing up in a tower block in North London. My dad planted a few pots on the balcony (which he had painted green!) My Dad certainly knew how to 'Green up his gaff!'

Luckily we had a small park and spinney that we’d play in for hours – places like Hilly Fields, Whitewebbs and Epping Forest became our places of magic and wonder and we visited as a family at every opportunity.

My nan’s garden was the first ‘proper’ garden I knew. Traditional lawn and regimented borders – the flowers being the stars of the show. Blowsy peonies and wild sea lavender – I knew I wanted to be a flower fairy – and here I am, ready to add some sparkle to your garden.

’How do you like your tea Pip?’

‘Builders please’.

‘Perfect - we are going to get on just fine!’

Cherry and Pip started their working life together in Interior design.

We used to love meeting with clients, discussing their needs. We would ‘ooh and ahh’ over the fabulous fabrics, wallpapers and trimmings and loved spending time working them into a new design. We learnt the importance of connecting the person/personality to the space.

We left the interiors world and pursued different paths. Cheryl went into floristry and horticulture and Pip into landscaping and design. Often getting together for a cup of’ builders’ and a catch up.

Some years and various life experiences later...... Pip was stuck on a particular landscaping project – she called Cheryl – she whizzed round - several cups of builders (and a few biscuits) later – they’d worked their magic – using their interior/exterior design skills, their combined wisdom and passion – the design scheme was cracked! The rest is history.......

  • Growing

Working on the land gives us a great connection with nature . We see change first hand and recognising that what you put into the garden is what you get out . Therefore it is important to Cherrypip to use eco and ethical products and practices where ever possible and not chemical pesticides and weedkillers.

We care about what goes into your garden, as much as what you get out of it – make your garden as individual as you are.

I found CherryPip Garden Design almost by accident but am delighted that I did. Cheryl and Pippa did a garden design for me which made me see my garden in a new light and revitalised my enthusiasm. They worked with my ideas but enhanced them with their knowledge and ideas of plants, colours, seasons, combinations etc.

They spent a day clearing the garden and planning at a very affordable price, then drew up a garden plan. They were very flexible and involved me in every step and were in fact very good company along the way!

I was really impressed that they were happy to source the plants and do the planting etc or not as I chose. They worked very hard on the days that they were there and were fully prepared for all weather!

My garden is looking lovely now and I am really enjoying spending time in it.

Thank you CherryPip

Two perfect angels that will make your garden Heaven for you no matter what size or shape.

Pip and Cheryl produced a beautiful design taking into account our preferences, life style and the dogs. The actuality was every bit as gorgeous as the design and is a delight

I have never seen two people work so hard and who actually listened to what we wanted in the garden.

I wanted to share something special...

I nursed a little boy who sadly lost his battle for life in April and grew he his angel wings....His mummy was pregnant and his little brother was born in August....all was well and then he started having catastrophic seizures....they are testing him to see what is causing this....but things are not good....he is on the children's ward I took mum for a walk today and we ended up in the memory garden, she cried and said her others sons pebble is there....she said what comfort she gets from just sitting in the garden and what a beautiful place it is.

I shared that I know one of the special ladies who created such a beautiful place....she asked me to thank you so much when we next spoke, the garden gives her such comfort....and peace.
